Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Asks for Prayer for the Betterment of His Nation Nigeria, Asking Why It Seems Like Things in Nigeria Are Becoming Worse Despite the Growing Number of Spiritual Activities Taking Place there.
Using his platform, Hallelujah Challenge, Pastor Nathaniel Bassey begs for prayers for Nigerian Christians and expresses his sadness over the country’s current situation.

I want us to pray for our nation, Nigeria first and then we deal with our own selves.
I thought about the fact that there is so much religious spiritual activities that happens. There is all of these great platforms, great ministries. People even take journeys to Nigeria to enjoy the grace of God. Hallelujah challenge is from Nigeria.
NSPPD, Koinonia, Holy Ghost Service (RCCG), Shiloh, all of these great ministries, WOFBEC, and I was just saying to myself, why is it that with a lot of intensification of spiritual activities happening in the country, it still looks as though things just keeps getting darker in Nigeria? I know this is sobering and is good.
Why the bad press? The killings? Extra-judicial killings? Why the killings of Christians especially in the North?
The other day we heard about 150 people in Kwara State, a whole community cleared out. In the midst of a lot of spiritual activities happening in the country.
Nigeria is such a graceful nation. Such a blessed nation. This country is the most blessed in terms of resources. We have some of the smartest people. Our doctors are some of the best around the world. Our engineers outside this country are some of the most sought after. We have anointed people. Great psalmists but, the contradiction keeps hitting me everytime.
And then I began to think deeply, the shading of blood. There is a lot of shading of blood in our nation.
Have you noticed that we are almost used to people dying? 150 people died in a day and we moved on?
I read today on CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) news of how two Christians were slaughtered. And you see, the life of the flesh is in the blood, and blood cries. So I said tonight, we going to cry for mercy. We are going to humble ourselves and pray quickly that God will have mercy. Also pray for the time to favour Nigeria. Pray that the time to judge the wickedness in our nation must come. However God will do it, this country must manifest our prophetic destiny.
Listen, I define reproach as shame pro-max. Because it’s a higher level of shame.
Do you know the reproach we suffer today as Nigerians? It’s our passport. I travel a lot. Sometimes the moment the embassies sees your passport, green passport, they will say stay here. Your questions are more. Your search is more.
There are countries today that have backlisted us. You want to apply for something online, you drop-down and check then see No Nigeria. Some will even that say there is no more VISA for you. But I trust God, that a time will come, that the shame of this nation will be rolled away, and indeed that time has come.
